Course Description

This course is designed to develop the participant’s:

  • Awareness of the risks associated with Lifting and Rigging

  • Knowledge of Lifting and Rigging safe work practices

  • Understanding of the control measures required while working at Lifting and Rigging

Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive, video, written material). Each candidate will undergo a theory assessment (multiple-choice questions) at the end of the course.

 


Course Objective
  • Gain knowledge on relevant PPE, Hazards, Signals

  • Know and understand the use of different types of hitches 

  • Know and understand the use of Slings, Wire ropes, Chains, Shakles, Clamps, Hooks etc.

  • Know Lifting Appliances.

  • Be able to read liffting table charts
